Yoga Therapy Program with Dr. Carmen Chornell
Yoga Therapy (Medicine for your mind and body) is an innovative group-based (currently virtual) course offered for referred patients with anxiety or depression.
The course will combine three evidence-based treatments for depression: physical activity, cognitive based mindfulness training and yoga. It is led by Dr. Carmen Chornell, MD, CCFP. Each class will be 90 minutes, consisting of initial discussion and education, breathing exercises (pranayama), mindfulness meditation (dharana), physical postures (asanas), and reflection. There are nine classes in each course.
This is a physically active flow-based yoga class, and it can make you sweat! Modifications are available to enable you to go at your own pace, so that everyone can benefit regardless of fitness level or previous yoga experience.
