MDABC Resources for Seniors

Because age brings unique mental health challenges, it’s important that seniors and their families are well-informed about mental illness. Being a senior can be a rewarding time of life if we are healthy and happy.

Common transitions at later stages of life—retirement, changes in income, the loss of a spouse—can be triggers for mental health issues, but we know that planning and open communication help.

To this end, MDABC has developed a series of mental health fact sheets for seniors. They can be downloaded as PDF documents here:

  • Concerns About Medication
  • The Difference Between Depression and Dementia
  • Seniors and Depression: Information You Need to Know
  • Information For Friends and Family
  • Seniors and Depression: Suicide Information
