MDABC Facilitator Training
The purpose of the training is to teach new volunteers to lead MDABC peer-led, self-help support groups. Newly trained facilitators will be paired up with each other and new groups will be opened at various locations in the Lower Mainland and the Fraser Valley. Facilitator training will be provided either in the MDABC office or via Zoom and you will receive a manual as well as good support in your role.

have their own lived experience of a mood disorder

be an active listener

have an interest in offering support to others in a group setting

have capacity to listen closely without judgement or dispensing advice

be able to make a one year commitment to the role.

Other requirements include two visits to one current MDABC support group (introduce yourself to the current Facilitator)

criminal record check to work with the vulnerable population

completion of a Confidentiality and No Advice Giving agreements

and a brief meeting with MDABC team.
